ITINERARY:
Day One: Fly from Calgary to Shanghai.
Day Two: Arrive in Shanghai. You will be met by your friendly English-Speaking guide and take the train to Longhyang Terminal Station.
Day Three: Highlights on this day include a visit to the Jade Buddha Temple and the Bund, a visit to a local kindergarten or School and an acrobatics show with dinner.
Day Four: On this day, we will visit the Yu Yuan Garden, go on a shopping excursion to the Silk Factory and then enjoy lunch. We will then depart Hangzhou. Stay at the Vanwarm Hotel Hangzhou.
Day Five: Enjoy a boat cruise on the tranquil water of the beautiful West Lake. Visit the Lingyin Temple, the Six Harmony Pagoda and the Dragon Well Tea Farm to enjoy a cup of the famous Green Tea. Lastly, we will go to the West Lake Show in the evening.
Day Six: We will fly from Hangzhou to Suzhou. Upon arrival in Suzhou, ‘Venice of the East’, take a leisurely boat ride down the famous Grand Canal & witness the daily life of the local people. In the afternoon, visit the Master of Nets Garden and visit Suzhou Silk Embroidery Institute. We will stay overnight at Pan Pacific hotel.
Day Seven: We will make our way back to Shanghai and board the flight from Shanghai to Yichang. Once we arrive in Yichang, we will go on a city tour with dinner. We will also go to the pier and board the Yangtze River cruise offering Full facilities with outside cabins.
Day Eight: We will go on an Angtze River Cruise in the morning. Later, enjoy spectacular sights while cruising through the Xiling Gorge. Finally, a Captain’s Dinner and Folkloric Performance is scheduled for the evening.
Day Nine: Tour of the Three Gorges depending on river conditions, shore excursion on board a Ferry and Sampan to see the more scenic small gorges of Shennong Stream; a natural habitat for mandarin ducks and golden hair monkeys. Later, admire breathtaking sights of the dramatic vistas in the Wu Gorge and Qutang Gorge.
Day Ten: Go to Yangtze River on an excursion to Fengdu, the “Ghost City.” This ancient village of temples is full of shrines to the gods of the underworld. The day finishes with a Farewell Banquet.
Day Eleven: We will arrive in Chongqing in the morning. We will go on a city tour, and then transfer to the railway station and take the express train to Chengdu. Upon arrival, be met and transferred to Tianfu Sunshine hotel. Take a walk along Jinli Street, a particularly representative commercial street of this city and known as ‘First Street of the Shu Kingdom’. We will stay at Tianfu Sunshine Hotel.
Day Twelve: After breakfast, start the morning sightseeing with a visit to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Later, transfer to airport and board flight to Xi’an. Arrive in Xi’an. Stay at Grand Dynasty Cultural Hotel.
Day Thirteen: Today will involve a full-day tour of the Terra-Cotta Museum, a visit to the ancient City Wall and a lacquer ware store. Enjoy an amazing Tang Dynasty Show and dinner with 18 Kinds of Dumplings.
Day Fourteen: Take a morning flight to Beijing. This afternoon visit Tian An Men Square, the largest public plaza in the world and the Forbidden City where two dozen emperors once resided between the 15th and early 20th century. Stay at New Otani Chang Fu Gong hotel.
Day Fifteen: On another daylong excursion, you will have a photo opportunity at the Beijing Olympic Center. Continue to the Badaling section of the Great Wall and walk along one of the largest man-made structures in history. Lunch at Cloisonné workshop. On the way back visit a Jade carving factory. Enjoy Hutong Tour in the later afternoon or before dinner.
Day Sixteen: Tour the Temple of Heaven where many local people practice Taiji. Visit a Pearl Factory. After that, explore the beautiful Summer Palace and its classical-style architecture, Imperial gardens and man-made Kunming Lake. Enjoy Peking Duck Farewell Dinner.
Say Seventeen: Today is a free day for you to explore the city.
Day Eighteen: fly back to Calgary
